Purpose of DanannIQ

These terms govern use of the DanannIQ website and service. DanannIQ is a planning and information service that helps users explore indicative project costs, possible grant support, related work and upgrade routes for home improvements in Ireland.

Planning service only

DanannIQ is not a contractor, BER assessor, engineer, architect, surveyor, SEAI, One Stop Shop or grant administrator. Using the calculator does not create a contract for building works, grant funding or a grant application. It is a planning tool that depends on the information supplied by the user.

Estimates are planning estimates

Results are planning estimates, not quotations, valuations, tender prices or guarantees. Actual costs depend on the property, specification, condition, location, access, contractor, market conditions and any work discovered during a project. Estimates depend on the accuracy and completeness of user inputs, which DanannIQ does not independently verify. Obtain written quotations, suitable professional assessments and formal advice before committing to work or a grant application.

BER-guided planning

Document extraction and photo/scanned-document OCR can make mistakes. Review and correct detected details and recommendations before using an estimate. The BER Advisory Report and your assessor remain the source of upgrade recommendations; DanannIQ does not perform a BER assessment.

Grant information

Potential grant amounts and eligibility information are indicative and may change. Official SEAI rules and decisions take precedence. DanannIQ does not approve a grant or determine final eligibility. Final eligibility can depend on information the calculator does not collect, such as exact build and occupancy evidence, technical assessment outcomes and contractor compliance details. Approvals, assessments and scheme decisions remain subject to the relevant official process.

No professional advice

DanannIQ does not provide financial, legal, engineering, architectural, surveying or construction advice. Use appropriate qualified professionals for decisions about your property, project design, structure, safety, finance and contracts. Users remain responsible for obtaining the assessments and quotations needed for their project and for deciding whether to proceed.

Availability and service changes

The service may be corrected, updated, suspended or withdrawn. Cost assumptions, grant information and features may change as source information and the service develop. DanannIQ does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

Acceptable use

Use the service only for lawful personal or business planning. Do not interfere with the website, attempt unauthorised access, misuse automated access or reproduce the service in a misleading or damaging way.

Intellectual property

The DanannIQ name, branding, website content and original software are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. These terms do not transfer ownership or permit commercial copying of the service.

Third-party and official links

Links to SEAI, government sources or other third parties are provided for convenience. DanannIQ does not control those websites and is not responsible for their availability or content. Current official information should take priority where it differs from DanannIQ.

Exclusions and statutory rights

To the extent permitted by Irish law, DanannIQ will not exclude or restrict any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including statutory rights under Irish consumer and data-protection law. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability where Irish law does not allow that limitation or exclusion.

Irish law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish courts, to the extent permitted by Irish law.
