Austin Technologies Ltd, trading as DanannIQ, is the controller for personal information processed in connection with this website and the calculator service. What the service does

The DanannIQ calculator asks for details about a property and planned works so it can produce an indicative estimate. No DanannIQ account is required to use the service. Your calculator answers are processed locally in your browser. They are not sent to a DanannIQ backend or stored by DanannIQ, and they are not persisted in localStorage or sessionStorage.

Categories of information processed

Information connected with the service falls broadly into the following categories:

• property and project details entered into the calculator, which are processed locally in your browser and are not received by DanannIQ
• technical information generated by website requests and hosting or security infrastructure, such as request metadata, server logs, security logs and basic service-operation records
• correspondence sent to info@dananniq.ie, including enquiry content and any contact details supplied in the message
• website usage, traffic and engagement information collected by Google Analytics only after you give analytics consent

Calculator information

Your calculator answers are processed locally in your browser. They are not sent to a DanannIQ backend or stored by DanannIQ. The application does not persist them in localStorage or sessionStorage, and the temporary calculator state is cleared when you refresh or restart the calculator. We do not send calculator answers as analytics events.

Providing calculator information is optional where the user chooses not to enter a field or not to use the service. The service does not require a user to provide personal information to generate an estimate.

BER documents and photos

BER-guided planning also processes documents and photos locally in your browser. PDF text extraction and photo/scanned-PDF OCR run on your device. DanannIQ does not upload or store your documents, photos or raw document/OCR text, and does not send them to an OCR, AI or analytics service. The required processing software and English recognition data are served as ordinary files from this site.

Only the supported details you review are used for your plan. Files, extracted text and reviewed details are not persisted by the application in cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage or IndexedDB. Reviewed details remain in temporary browser memory for this visit; refreshing, leaving the planner or clearing the session removes them. No account is required. We do not send these files, extracted text or reviewed details as analytics events.

Optional website analytics

With your explicit analytics consent, DanannIQ uses Google Analytics to understand website usage, traffic and engagement and improve the website. This may include pages visited, interactions, referring websites, device and browser information, and cookie identifiers used to distinguish browsers and sessions. We do not describe this information as anonymous. Google receives analytics information to provide this service; its handling of that information is described in Google's Privacy Policy.

Google Analytics is optional and only loads after your explicit analytics consent is saved and confirmed. DanannIQ does not set analytics cookies before consent. You can reject analytics and continue using all necessary site functions, including the calculator and BER tools. You can change or withdraw consent at any time using Analytics preferences in the footer. Withdrawal stops future collection and removes accessible analytics cookies, but does not undo processing that occurred while you consented. Advertising consent and Google signals are disabled.

We store your consent choice, notice version and expiry time only in localStorage in your browser for 180 days so that we can respect your decision. No cookie is used to store this preference. If localStorage is unavailable or your choice cannot be saved and confirmed, analytics remains disabled. This preference is separate from calculator and BER data and contains no analytics identifier. After consent, Google Analytics may set analytics cookies, configured to last up to 180 days and renewed during consented use. Technical request and security information

Website hosting and security infrastructure may generate routine technical information when the site is accessed or protected. This can include basic request metadata, IP addresses, timestamps, the information requested, security events, error records and service-availability records. The exact details and retention periods depend on the hosting and security configuration used to operate the website. DanannIQ does not use this technical information to receive or store calculator answers.

Correspondence to DanannIQ

Messages sent to info@dananniq.ie may contain personal information you choose to provide, such as name, email address, project details or a summary of your enquiry. This is used only to respond to the enquiry and manage the contact.

DanannIQ processes information to:

• provide the calculator, estimate and project-planning functionality
• operate, secure and maintain the website
• respond to enquiries sent to info@dananniq.ie
• understand website usage, traffic and engagement where you have consented to analytics
• comply with legal and regulatory obligations and manage complaints or requests

Lawful bases

Where personal information is processed, DanannIQ relies on appropriate lawful bases, including legitimate interests in operating and securing the website, responding to enquiries, and maintaining the service, together with contractual or pre-contractual steps where relevant. Optional Google Analytics processing relies on your analytics consent, which you may refuse or withdraw. For correspondence or service administration, DanannIQ uses the minimum information necessary and respects applicable Irish data-protection obligations.

Recipients and processors

DanannIQ may share necessary information with hosting, security, email or technical-service providers acting as processors when required to deliver and secure the website or support email communications. Calculator answers, BER documents and reviewed BER details are not sent to these providers by the application. Public links may direct users to other websites with their own privacy terms.

Retention and deletion

Because DanannIQ does not receive calculator answers, there is no DanannIQ calculator record to retain or delete. Technical records and correspondence are retained only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which they were collected, such as operating the site, investigating a security matter or responding to a query, and where required by law.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation and Irish data-protection law, you may have rights to ask for access to personal data, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or data portability where these rights apply. Right to complain

Automated decision-making

The DanannIQ calculator does not make automated decisions that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects for the user. It provides planning estimates and potential support indicators, which remain subject to the relevant official schemes and professional assessments.
